To celebrate 11 years of Marriage, Anthony and I headed to Iceland.
First stop: Baltimore
We met up with my parents, who are the ones to find the amazing deal for Iceland.
Was trying to capture "Be kind. Smile at a Stranger." But after noticing Anthony in the background, realized the graffiti on the bottom reads, "Our love is forever. You make life worth living." :)
Arrival to Iceland! We arrived in Reykjavik and shuttled to Hafnarfjordur, where we explored the town during the early morning.
Many buildings are covered in corrugated steal here.
No to dogs! Yes to elves!
Hellisgerdi: the elf garden
Harpa: the Concert Hall
The President's House
This concert we stumbled upon was absolutely beautiful: Just organ and a soprano
Wool!
This Cemetery was really fascinating
We met the Gardner over all of the city's cemeteries, and chatted for quite a while.
He told us that different sections of the graveyard are reflective of the different ideals of the time. The oldest section was totally disorganized. Then there was an era of beautification and order. Then one section where there are paths large enough for cars to come through. He said the city of Reykjavik is the same. They mirror one another.
The Blue Lagoon was a highlight. Totally worth forking out the dough for.
